Jeff Wingfield has conducted hundreds of investigations and analyses of various vehicle and equipment fires. His expertise in the fire investigation field involves subrogation claims, product liability investigations, and court expert witness testimony. Jeff’s passion for motorized equipment and his tenacity for uncovering the root cause of a fire results in a high level of customer satisfaction. Fire investigations are approached using the Scientific Method, cause determinations are made based on discovered facts and unbiased opinions are presented in a thorough manner. Jeff has the ability to translate engineering terminology and design failure modes into understandable language and concepts for his clients.

This SUV to the left burned in a garage of a home and was determined not to be causal to the fire.

Fire losses can be complex. Jeff can guide clients through the investigation process due to his extensive experience on fire scenes.

This feller buncher burned in the Northwoods of Minnesota. An electrical cable chafed and shorted to ground causing this fire.

Jeff is very familiar with automotive, truck and equipment electrical systems and has determined cause and origin on countless fires involving electrical ignition sources.

item6

This excavator is equipped with a log processor head. It burned in a field immediately prior to use in a logging operation.

Jeff has investigated many fires that had their origins in hydraulic hose failures, bearing failures, over- heated engines and transmissions, electrical failures, arson or other sources. He brings a multi-disciplinary approach to origin and cause fire analysis due to his familarity with vehicle and equipment systems.

The photo to the right is a close up of this same excavator engine compartment .

This view shows typical extensive fire damage that an investigator encounters during an equipment fire inspection.
